Reported effects of dihexa are often described in terms of synaptogenesis, a process by which neurons form new synaptic connections. This concept is biologically plausible but difficult to measure directly in living humans. Animal behavioral tests can suggest memory or learning changes, yet such tests have limitations and may not translate to people. The literature includes conflicting or incomplete findings, and some studies are small. As a result, the mechanism remains a subject of investigation rather than a settled explanation.
The proposed mechanism of dihexa involves activation of hepatocyte growth factor and its receptor, c-Met. In cell models, this signaling pathway is associated with dendritic spine formation and synaptic reorganization. Dihexa is described as a stabilized analog of angiotensin IV, which also interacts with related systems. However, the precise binding profile and downstream effects remain incompletely characterized. Most mechanistic evidence comes from in vitro assays and rodent studies rather than human trials.
Identity checks for dihexa usually rely on mass spectrometry and chromatographic purity analysis. A lyophilized powder is the common supplied form, and it may appear as a white to off-white solid. Aqueous solubility is limited, so laboratory work often uses an organic solvent such as dimethyl sulfoxide to prepare stock solutions. Because the peptide is not a standard pharmaceutical product, exact specifications can vary between suppliers. Certificates of analysis may accompany a batch, but they are not equivalent to regulatory approval.
Dihexa is a synthetic peptide whose structure is modeled on angiotensin IV. Its chemical name often appears as N-hexanoic-Tyr-Ile-(6)-aminohexanoic amide, though vendor and publication naming can differ. The molecule combines a short amino acid sequence with a hexanoic acid group and an amide terminus. It is classed as a small research peptide rather than a conventional drug. Databases may list it under several synonyms, so matching names are important when comparing sources.
The angiotensin IV connection places dihexa in a family of short peptides studied for effects on central nervous system signaling. Angiotensin IV itself is a metabolite of angiotensin II, and analogs have been explored in cardiovascular and neurological research. Dihexa differs from the natural peptide through structural modifications intended to alter stability and receptor interactions. Published descriptions sometimes call it a hepatocyte growth factor mimetic, although that label reflects proposed activity rather than a confirmed clinical mechanism.
| Property | Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Primary reported target | Hepatocyte growth factor/c-Met signaling | Findings mainly from cell and animal studies. |
| Related endogenous peptide | Angiotensin IV | Dihexa is described as a stabilized analog. |
| Common analytical method | Reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography | Used for purity assessment. |
| Identity confirmation | Mass spectrometry | Provides a molecular mass check. |
| Regulatory status | Not approved for human use | Sold as a research chemical in many jurisdictions. |
Regulatory status differs by country, but dihexa is generally not approved as a therapeutic product. It is often sold as a research chemical, which means purity, labeling, and handling fall outside pharmaceutical drug standards. Some jurisdictions restrict the sale of peptides intended for human consumption. Researchers and suppliers may therefore face different legal requirements depending on location. Import rules and customs enforcement can also affect how such compounds move across borders.
Human safety data are sparse. No widely accepted dosing regimen, long-term safety profile, or clinical efficacy endpoint has been established. Published animal results can suggest directions for further study, but species differences and study design limit direct translation. Open questions include bioavailability, blood-brain barrier penetration, metabolism, and whether observed effects arise from a single target or multiple pathways. Replication across independent laboratories remains an important benchmark for evaluating the strength of preclinical claims.
Most published reports on dihexa come from cell cultures and animal models. Studies have examined markers of synapse formation, dendritic spine density, and performance on learning tasks in rodents. Proposed mechanisms center on hepatocyte growth factor and its c-Met receptor, with additional attention to angiotensin IV-related pathways. These findings are experimental and have not been confirmed as clinical benefits in humans. The literature often uses different tasks and endpoints, which complicates direct comparison across studies.
In laboratory settings, dihexa is typically handled as a lyophilized peptide powder. Appropriate personal protective equipment and a ventilated workspace are standard practices for weighing and transferring research chemicals. Because the compound lacks regulatory approval for clinical use, it should not be given to people. Institutional safety rules and local regulations govern its acquisition, storage, and disposal. Suppliers often provide a certificate of analysis that lists purity, identity, and batch-specific handling notes.
Dissolution depends on the peptide’s salt form, purity, and the chosen solvent. Dimethyl sulfoxide is commonly used to prepare concentrated stock solutions, while aqueous buffers may show limited solubility. Sonication or gentle warming can sometimes aid dissolution, but excessive heat may promote degradation. Once in solution, the material is generally kept cold and protected from light. Researchers should verify solubility for each lot rather than assuming uniform behavior across suppliers.
Early laboratory work focused on its effects on synaptic connectivity and neuronal signaling. In cell and animal models, dihexa has been reported to promote the formation of new synapses, a process called synaptogenesis. These findings have generated interest in cognitive research, but the evidence base remains mostly preclinical. Human clinical trials with clear safety and efficacy endpoints are limited or absent in the public literature. Whether these effects translate to humans is an open question.
The proposed mechanism involves interaction with the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) system and its receptor, c-Met. Dihexa is described in some studies as an HGF mimetic, meaning it may mimic or enhance HGF-mediated signaling. Activation of c-Met can influence cell growth, survival, and cytoskeletal remodeling, pathways that intersect with synaptic plasticity. However, the precise binding targets and downstream events for dihexa are not fully established, and alternative mechanisms have been suggested.
Dihexa is a synthetic peptide with the chemical name N-hexanoic-Tyr-Ile-(6)-aminohexanoic amide, and it is structurally related to angiotensin IV, a naturally occurring peptide fragment. Researchers developed it as a modified analog intended to alter stability and activity relative to the parent peptide. Its short sequence and fatty acid chain distinguish it from many endogenous peptides, and published studies often describe it under the abbreviation dihexa. The compound is classified as a laboratory compound rather than an approved therapeutic in most jurisdictions.
Hard ionization techniques are those that impart high quantities of residual internal energy in the subject molecule, even after ionization. Part of the energy would be dissipated by rupturing chemical bonds within the ion, producing many fragmentary radical cations. The resultant ions tend to have m/z lower than the molecular ion (other than in the case of proton transfer and not including isotope peaks). The most common example of hard ionization is electron ionization (EI). The radical ions produced after the first ionization are called second-generation product ions. The products are then directed towards the mass analyzer by a repeller electrode. The ionization process often follows predictable cleavage reactions that give rise to fragment ions which, following detection and signal processing, convey structural information about the analyte. Conversely, soft ionization techniques are those that impart little residual energy onto the subject molecule and as such result in little fragmentation. Examples include fast atom bombardment (FAB), chemical ionization (CI), atmospheric-pressure chemical ionization (APCI), atmospheric-pressure photoionization (APPI), electrospray ionization (ESI), desorption electrospray ionization (DESI), and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI).
The electronic structure of superconducting cuprates is highly anisotropic. Therefore, the Fermi surface of HTS is close to the Fermi surface of the doped CuO2 plane (or multi-planes, in case of multi-layer cuprates) and can be presented on the 2‑D reciprocal space (or momentum space) of the CuO2 lattice. The typical Fermi surface within the first CuO2 Brillouin zone is sketched in Figure 1 (left). It can be derived from the band structure calculations or measured by angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES). Figure 1 shows the Fermi surface of BSCCO measured by ARPES. In a wide range of charge carrier concentration (doping level), in which the hole-doped HTS are superconducting, the Fermi surface is hole-like (i.e. open, as shown in Figure 1). This results in an inherent in-plane anisotropy of the electronic properties of HTS. The structure of superconductor cuprates are often closely related to that of perovskites. Their structure has been described as a distorted, oxygen deficient, multi-layered, perovskite structure. One of the crystal structure properties of oxide superconductors is an alternating multi-layer of CuO2 planes with superconductivity between these layers. The more layers of CuO2, the higher Tc. This structure causes a large anisotropy in normal conducting and superconducting properties, since electrical currents are carried by holes induced in the oxygen sites of the CuO2 sheets. The electrical conduction features a much higher conductivity parallel to the CuO2 plane than in the perpendicular direction.

=== China and North Korea === In 2019, Galloway defended the authorities' crackdown on protests in Hong Kong. He told China Global Television Network: "These people should know that Hong Kong is China. No country, absolutely no country, will allow an existential threat to emerge on its territory". In 2022, he said there were no internment camps for Uighurs in China. He stated that China had established "re-education centres" to steer terrorists away from the path of extremism. Galloway said, after spending time in North Korea, he "does not agree with the North Korean system" and would not like to live there. He said "there have been achievements in North Korea ... They have a cohesive, pristine actually, innocent culture, a culture not penetrated by globalisation and Western mores". During a period of tension between North and South Korea in 2013, Galloway said "North Korea has no intention to harm any of us. North Korea's problem is with South Korea. ... South Korea exists because America invaded Korea, killed millions of people, divided the country and continues to garrison South Korea with military bases, nuclear weapons, chemical and biological weapon". He blamed the United States for "war mongering" during the crisis and called South Korea its "puppet state".
Cordyceps chanhua is an ascomycete fungus that parasitizes cicada larvae found in Southern China. It forms white and yellow asexual fruiting structures resembling synnema. It is known in Traditional Chinese Medicine as Chan Hua which means "cicada flower". Its medicinal uses date back to the fifth century AD in China. It can also be used in various foods and tonics. Chan-hua is previously misidentified as Isaria cicadae, another pathogen of cicada larvae. However, this name describes a fungus found in Brazil in 1838 with significant morphological and DNA differences. Other misattributed names include Cordyceps cicadae and Cordyceps sobolifera. Due to widespread misidentification, "Isaria cicadae" has been reported to exist on other continents.

The analysis revealed two mutations in the SH3TC2 gene, which is already known to be associated with CMT. To better understand the inheritance pattern, researchers compared the genome of the affected individual with those of the patient's parents and seven siblings—some of whom had the disease and others who did not. Both parents were found to carry one normal and one mutated copy of the SH3TC2 gene and showed either mild or no symptoms. However, children who inherited two mutated copies of the gene exhibited the full clinical features of the disease.
However, only a limited number of people can bring claims for judicial review. Under TFEU article 263(2), a member state, the Parliament, Council or Commission have automatic rights to seek judicial review. But under article 263(4) a "natural or legal person" must have a "direct and individual concern" about the regulatory act. "Direct" concern means that someone is affected by an EU act without "the interposition of an autonomous will between the decision and its effect", for instance by a national government body. In Piraiki-Patraiki v Commission, a group of Greek textile businesses, who exported cotton products to France, challenged a Commission decision allow France to limit exports. The Commission argued that the exporters were not directly concerned, because France might decide not to limit exports, but the Court of Justice held this possibility was "entirely theoretical". A challenge could be brought. By contrast in Municipality of Differdange v Commission a municipality wanted to challenge the Commissions decision to aid steel firms which reduced production: this would probably reduce its tax collections. But the Court of Justice held that because Luxembourg had discretion, and its decision to reduce capacity was not inevitable, the municipality had no "direct" concern (its complaint was with the Luxembourg government instead). "Individual" concern requires that someone is affected specifically, not as a member of a group.
After a diplomatic crisis started between Venezuela and Guyana (both Brazilian neighbours) in October 2023, President Lula tried to mediate a de-escalation while stating that "we do not want and we do not need a war in South America". Officials from Brazil, along with those from the CARICOM, Colombia, the United Nations and the CELAC attended a meeting between Venezuelan and Guyanese presidents in December 2023 to ease tensions between the nations. Brazil offered to host further talks to promote peace in the region, which was agreed by the two countries, and a meeting between Venezuelan and Guyanese Foreign Ministers took place on 25 January 2024, with both parties pledging to keep the peace and hold further talks.
=== Mesolimbic dopamine pathways === The oxytocinergic circuit projecting from the paraventricular hypothalamic nucleus (PVN) innervates the ventral tegmental area (VTA) dopaminergic neurons that project to the nucleus accumbens, i.e., the mesolimbic pathway. Activation of the PVN→VTA projection by oxytocin affects sexual, social, and addictive behavior via this link to the mesolimbic pathway; specifically, oxytocin exerts a prosexual and prosocial effect in this region.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) regulates all major aspects pertaining to media and telecommunications in Jammu and Kashmir. In addition, the Jammu and Kashmir administration released their media policy in 2020 which enabled government officers to sanction journalists and media organisations for disseminating "fake news", and is valid for the next five years. The policy attracted criticism for allegedly reducing people to "passive recipients of the information the government intends to disseminate." The Press Council of India (PCI) expressed concern over the provisions of fake news in the policy, as it "interferes with the free functioning of the press." Major periodicals in Jammu and Kashmir include Greater Kashmir, Rising Kashmir, Kashmir Times, Daily Excelsior, Elite Kashmir and Kashmir Monitor. DD Kashir is the state-owned television broadcaster. Popular private television channels are ETV Urdu and Gulistan News. In association with All India Radio, DD Kashir has established high power transmitters along the India–Pakistan border. Radio Sharda, a worldwide community radio service for Kashmiri Pandits, was started by Ramesh Hangloo. FM Tadka 95.0, BIG FM 92.7, Radio Mirchi and Red FM 93.5 are private FM radio stations. Internet shutdowns are frequent in Jammu and Kashmir. As of February 2021, the region had 300 internet shutdowns since 2012. In 2020 alone, this number was 115, the highest of any year.
Recognition of its prevalence and consequences has led to governments and non-government organizations promoting vitamin A fortification of foods and creating programs that administer large bolus-size oral doses of vitamin A to young children every four to six months. In 2008, the World Health Organization estimated that vitamin A supplementation over a decade in 40 countries averted 1.25 million deaths due to vitamin A deficiency. A Cochrane review reported that vitamin A supplementation is associated with a clinically meaningful reduction in morbidity and mortality in children ages six month to five years of age. All-cause mortality was reduced by 14%, and incidence of diarrhea by 12%. However, a Cochrane review by the same group concluded there was insufficient evidence to recommend blanket vitamin A supplementation for infants one to six months of age, as it did not reduce infant mortality or morbidity.
During the first phase, from 1804 to 1806, it was a conservative reaction to new abuses by the Janissaries and Dahis, after they killed Hadji Mustafa Pasha (vizier of the Sanjak of Smederevo). He had created a militia of Serbs fighting the Janissaries that were expelled from Belgrade and had found refuge with Osman Pazvantoğlu, governor of the Sanjak of Vidin (in present-day Bulgaria), who pursued his own policy and sought independence, which brought him into conflict with the Serbs and later with the Sublime Porte. The Janissaries managed to return to Belgrade and realized the Slaughter of the Knezes. Thus, the Serbs appealed to Sultan Selim III for assistance against the Dahis, who had since rejected the authority of the Porte. Also, Karađorđe negotiated with the Austrian captain Sajtinski. At this meeting, he expressed the wish of the Serbian people that the Austrian Empire receive them as a kingdom under its protection like in the past, as occupation of 1788–1791 was still a fresh memory. However, the Austrian authorities, due to difficulties with Napoleon and because they wanted to maintain their neutrality in order to be correct with the Porte, could not accept his offers. So, the Serbs were forced to ask for the protection of the Russians, and therefore, on 3 May 1804, the Serb leaders sent a letter to the Russian envoy in Constantinople, in which they spoke of the problems and wishes of the Serbian people, but they also stressed that they would continue to be loyal to the Sultan.
